The Dustin Ritter Band from Regina, Saskatchewan "play fast-paced high-energy indie rock. This four-piece offers audiences guitar driven rock layered under sincere (and often amusing) lyrics... their unique chord voicing and complex rhythmic elements make the The Dustin Ritter Band worth hearing" (Alex Macpherson, VERB). The original line up formed in the summer of 2009 and quickly wrote their debut full length album Dead Airwaves which was recorded in the fall of that year. John Bidochka from CBC Radio One has described the DRB's debut as "Upbeat and whimsical songs with a catchy, yet cool delivery. The Dustin Ritter Band is certainly a band to watch for in the coming years. Keep some room on your iPod, you will need it as these guys continue to deliver”. With influences iike The Band, Neil Young, The Wooden Sky, Tom Petty, QOTSA and RHCP the DRB’s melodic rock sound crosses over many musical styles including rock, roots, reggae, punk, folk and funk. Their musical versatility allows the band to play any type of venue and entertain a wide variety of audiences. The DRB toured Western Canada in the winter of 2011 and are currently planning a Canadian tour for the winter of 2014 in support of their follow up album Drunk and Drowning. The DRB is Dustin Ritter (guitar/vocals), Cyprian Henry (drums), Jon Fearnside (bass/vocals), and Orin Paquette (lead guitar/vocals). The After Dark portion of the evening will feature the band acoustic in the gallery. The After Hours portion will feature them plugged-in in Eddie's lounge. Artist Receptions
The EAGM hosts receptions for exhibiting artists whenever possible. Events such as these allow visitors to meet artists and learn more about their work. The artists give a brief talk or walkthrough of their art practice and answer questions from the crowd. The gallery provides refreshments throughout the event. Artist Receptions last approx. 2 hours, and are "come and go" style. There is no dress code and everyone is invited to attend. Children are also welcome to come with their families. Scheduled artist talks are typically congruent with the receptions and begin approximately 1/2 hour into the reception.
